In 2006 the 24 hour Reliability Trial celebrated it’s 25th
start from the historical mining town of Kapunda. A new era
in the 24’s history opened up when Yamaha signed up for the
next 5 years, this being the first time that the event has
had a motorcycle manufacturer as it’s major sponsor.
In 2006 Shane Diener became the first rider in the events
long history to win 8 times on a solo machine, beating his
predecessors Les Fredericks and Jim Dowsett who had 7 wins
each on solo machines. In this 78 minute video we cover
Shane’s record breaking ride taming one of the driest 24hr
Trials on record, and the line up of challengers attempting
to dethrone the current Champion.
The video also covers the sidecar class as their dramas
unfolded through out the event and features various Sidecar
and Solo onboard camera segments, including a split screen
Shane Diener vs Leigh Bentley duel. Other features include a
virtual tour of the 248km course, interviews, complete
results menu and scene selection.
